Interviewing Olivia Munn

Olivia Munn is an American actress who was born from a Vietmanese immigrant mother, and an German, Irish father. She particapated in movies and shows such as: Break the Beyond, The Newsroom, X-Men: Apocolayse, and many more. Like us, she is was also raised from an immigrant parent. Her being a successful actress in the movie industry, and being as humble as she is, if we had the chance we would want to interview her. Her story and up bringing, really relates to our podcast and it’s intial subject. The interview would be about: how to help our generation grow up to be succesful, how to embrace your culture, and how to appericate what our immigrant parents has done for us. This is how one segment of the interview would pan out.

Quote: “My mom always taught me that I mattered. It didn’t matter what anyone else thought, I mattered. I’ve always had this strength because of my mother.”

Adam: Once again, Thank you Olivia for taking time out of your day to do this podcast with us.

Olivia: Yes, no problem! I love how you guys are trying to make an impact in your community.

Christian: It’s all thanks you people like you! But i’d like to switch gears for a moment. The reason we asked you to be on this podcast is because you, just like us, have immigrant parents. Could you explain how life was like with them?

Olivia: Yeah of course, well actually it’s just only my mom who was an immigrant. You see my mom was a Chinese and Veitnemens descent, she was born and raised in Vietnam. At the time, The Vietnam war was taking place, so lucky enough life many other Vietnamese immgirants, fled to America to have a safer life there.

Dax: Oh gosh, yes I have many friends that have parents that expirenced what your mom went through. I’m happy she had the chance to start a better life in America. So from those past expirences, how was your relationship with your mom, or parents in general?

Olivia: Well, I am much closer with my mom than my dad.  My mom got divorced when I was two, and married a new guy who was quite something, he wouldn’t treat me right and he was very abusive. But I still loved my mom and I’m happy that I’m still close with my her and I hope that won’t change.

Wilson: Aw i’m sorry to hear that Olivia, I know that those past expirences help you become the strong woman you are today!

Olivia: Aw that’s very sweet wilson. Thank you.

Wilson: On the topic of your past, while doing some research about you before this interview, I stumble upon an older quote that you said. Is it ok if you can read it out to the viewers?

Olivia: No problem, I’d love to “My mom always taught me that I mattered. It didn’t matter what anyone else thought, I mattered. I’ve always had this strength because of my mother.”

Dax: Wow, you have a great mom! she really was a very kind person and caring one. Even if we can only tell by this quote. Can you explain this idea of how the quoted help you?

Olivia: Like I said my mom was there from the beginning, all the controversy that happens during the past year, my mom was there to help me, comfort me, and give the strength to move on.

Adam: Are there any comments or any advice you want to give to the viewers?

Olivia: I didn’t grow up with a perfect family. In fact, no one does. But from this quote I want people to know that you matter. You matter to your parents, friends, and to the people you inspire. you matter. And you should also appericate your parents more because, they do so much for us and the only way we can repay them is to show them that love back
